Safe and fast treatment to rejuvenate your skin
Does your skin look dull or tired? Do you suffer from acne or acne scarring? Then one of our Advanced Skin Peels could be perfect for you! These treatments are amongst the best for rejuvenating your skin quickly and safely.
Mandelic Acid (MA) – this type of peel is used for treating rosacea, chemo-exfoliation of sensitive skin and is a great peel for refreshing the skin all year round.
Glycolic Acid (GA) – there are varying concentrations of these chemical peels and they are generally used for mild to severe hyperpigmentation and photoaging.
Pyruvic Acid (PA) – this type of peel is used for seborrhea and moderate photoaging.
Salicylic Acid (SA) – this chemical peel is for mild to moderate comedonal and inflammatory acne localised on the face. We also carry out an SA peel on the back for patients that have the same conditions in this area.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) – such as glycolic, lactic, or fruit acids, are the mildest of the peel formulas and produce light peels. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin for people who can’t spare the time to recover from a phenol or TCA peel. AHA peels may be used to treat fine wrinkling, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne. Alpha hydroxy acids, such as glycolic acid, are often mixed with facial washes or creams in lesser concentrations as part of a daily skincare regimen to improve the skin’s texture.
EL Peels – indications for this peel include mild actinic keratosis, hyperpigmented lesions, and mild to moderate photo and chrono ageing around the eyes.
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) – TCA can be used in many concentrations, but it is most commonly used for medium-depth peeling. Fine surface wrinkles, superficial blemishes and pigment problems are commonly treated with TCA. We can also treat severe hyperpigmentation and severe post acne scars with a strong TCA peel.
TCA and Lactic Acid (LA) – this type of peel is wonderful for hyperpigmentation localised on the periocular (around the eyes) and labial (around the mouth) areas. It is also excellent for photoaging and actinic keratosis in these areas. We can also use this type of chemical peel for hyperpigmented lesions on the back of hands.
Pyruvic (PA) & Lactic Acid Peels (LA) – these types of peels are for neck and décolletage (chest) areas where there is hyperpigmentation, chrono ageing and photoaging present. Pyruvic Acid Peels are medium depth and can also be used to treat seborrhea, comedogenic acne with concomitant seborrhea, actinic keratosis of moderate severity, mild and moderate chrono and photo ageing. Possible complications include swelling, erythema, herpes and bacterial infections, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (usually temporary).
Jessner’s Peels – this is a medium depth peel. Indications for this peel include comedonal and inflammatory acne, hyperpigmentation, actinic keratosis, general hyperkeratosis, and chrono and photo ageing. Possible complications include erythema, usually of low intensity and short duration (3-4 days), and dry skin. A sensation of itching and burning of medium intensity can be felt by the patient during the application.
The Perfect Peel blends glutathione, kojic acid, TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and a blend of minerals and vitamins, including vitamin C. Kojic acid is a powerful lightening agent and proven to increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in skin that is brighter and tighter. TCA, phenol and retinoic acid reduce wrinkles and correct pigment problems, while salicylic acid exfoliates the skin and reduces inflammation. Alone the ingredients are powerful, but in combination they produce results that are astonishing.
Our Advanced Skin Peels at Skin Southwest are highly effective resurfacing treatments, using a combination of acids including Trichloroacetic Chemical Acid (TCA), Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Mandelic and Retinol to exfoliate the skin and improve the production of new skin cells. The Perfect peel also contains glutathione, which is incredibly good for anti-ageing, and vitamins and minerals.
The mild trauma caused by the peels forces the skin to repair itself and produce collagen. This results in softer, smoother and more radiant skin with a reduction in acne and pigmentation.

Chemical peels are very effective when used for a range of issues, including:
The peels we offer at Skin Southwest use IMAGE skincare and ISClinical products. We also use the Enerpeel system for particular skin concerns, as well as the perfect peel system. Following a thorough consultation with our aesthetician, a bespoke treatment plan will be determined and questions can be answered.
The chemical peel procedure involves applying a chemical solution to the area of concern. The solution dissolves dead surface skin cells revealing a new layer of skin that looks fresher and more youthful.
No, chemical peels should not hurt, although you may experience a hot, tingling or itchy sensation once the solution is on your skin. This is completely normal and should subside quickly.
Your skin may look sunburned for a few hours and you may experience some mild peeling, which could last for several days. After treatment, it is important to take extra care in the sun, wearing a sunblock with an SPF 30 or above.
Chemical peels are safe when carried out by an experienced and qualified clinical practitioner.
