After a deep cleanse the gel is applied to the skin and the Dermalux LED is positioned over the patient. The lights supercharge the Lumixa gel which stimulates the cells, in turn improving skin health, texture, tone and quality. The gel is removed and the patient’s skin is infused with moisturisers and protected with SPF.
A minimum of 5 treatments are recommended to get best results. Treatment can be done weekly or fortnightly.
Maintainence treatments every 4-12 weeks is advised.
You should avoid sun exposure or tanning booths during the course of treatments. Using a sunscreen with a minimum factor 30 SPF is recommended during your course of treatments. An intensive moisturiser is advised for at least a week as the skin may feel drier or tighter after treatment. You should avoid retinol and products with glycolic acid for 48 hours post treatment.
Yes, Lumixa can be used in conjunction with your other favourite aesthetic treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers and skin treatments like chemical peels and microneedling. It is important however that these treatments are not used straight after one another. We can provide more information on how much time you will need to leave between appointments.
