It’s all about the lips!!!Posted on: 25th April 2016
A smile can say a million words and fuller lips are
considered both youthful and beautiful.
As we age the lips lose their natural volume, become less defined and
mouth can start to droop at the corners.
Lips can define our beauty and fuller well defined lips make
us appear youthful and attractive.
With ageing, sunshine and smoking ,the lips lose volume and
definition. The upper lip tends to flatten as it rolls downwards and inwards.
The outer corners of our lips start to descend ,giving us an unhappy look.
The distance from our nose to upper lip also increases
taking away the youthful show of teeth when we smile. Vertical lines also start
appearing in the skin above and below
These aging effects can be improved by the use of dermal
fillers that are specifically designed for use in the skin around our lips and
for our lips. These soft fillers are used to define, create subtle enhancements
or a sensuous pout by improving lip hydration systems resulting in natural fullness,
symmetry and well defined lips.
Fillers can also be used to lift the corner of the mouth
that often appears ‘sad’. I often find that most patients want fuller lips and
most patients also know what they do not want such as‘ducky lips’. They want
lips that are fuller as well as nicely balanced and proportionate.
Several techniques are used for enhancing lips and your
practitioner should go through what your expectations and desires are.
The procedure is quick and painless with use of an
anaesthetic cream/injections depending on your preference and practitioner.
Dramatic results are seen immediately. Soft hyaluronic acid gel fillers are
used in the lips that provide reasonably long lasting results and smooth and
gentle enough for the definition needed for lips.
The important message is to choose your practitioner wisely
who will guide you through your lip augmentation procedure and help you
achieve the results that you desire.
We carry out lip
augmentation/enhancement procedures in our Clinic. All our patients have a
thorough consultation prior to the procedure to ensure all expectations and
outcomes for both parties are met.
