Welcome to my first blog. This subject has captivated me and set me on a journey of learning more about my own health – and how I can use that knowledge to help others.

In this first post, I want to share what I believe are the true markers of a more wholesome, healthier life.

So, what do I mean by longevity – and what does it mean to me?

To me, longevity is about living well for longer-supported by evidence and robust scientific research. That matters to me, because I want everything I explain, discuss, or write about to be credible and backed up.

  1. Gratitude – a powerful practice I firmly believe in. It costs nothing, yet it can enrich your life in ways you may not expect.
  2. Sleep – the true powerhouse of longevity. I’ll do a deeper dive into this fascinating topic in a future blog.
  3. Eat – in today’s world, eating nutrient-dense food can be challenging, especially when soils are depleted and modern farming methods can reduce nutritional value. It’s more vital than ever to eat as ‘clean’ as you can – a subject I’ll explore in more detail later on.
  4. Movement – essential for reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, circulatory issues, and type 2 diabetes. Resistance (weight) training is non-negotiable for maintaining muscle mass, strength, and long-term function.
  5. Mind – mental clarity, optimised brain function, and cognitive health all matter. Supporting your nervous system (including vagal tone) is a key part of overall wellbeing. More on this to come.

These are some of the key pillars. As we go on this wellness journey together, we’ll explore each one in detail.

Thank you for reading.
